Do you ever have so much to write about that you don’t write anything? And don’t you just hate it when a busy business gets in the way? Boy, life is hard. I think about things I could write on here all the time but then usually filter myself and realize that nobody wants to know those weird insignificant things that happen in the day. People have enough of their own problems to hear about my petty ones. But I’ll share some anyway…
Sick Audrey covering her tummy in stickers.
Audrey’s been sick since Monday. She has thrown up once every day. So weird. It also started with a rash on her back, runny nose, no appetite, and just being plain unhappy. And of course now I have it, or at least something like it, even though I don’t have most of those symptoms…just the feeling yucky part and a bit naseous when I stand up. See, you didn’t need all those details. But if there are any doctors out there who want to tell me what to do for her, please feel free to diagnose.
I have felt like one of those wooly mammoths in the La Brea Tar Pits or a mosquito that is stuck in some tree sap for a whlie now. (And how is it that I worked in LA for a summer and didn’t ever go see the tar pits?) Everything has been in slow motion for me lately, especially with getting the sock animals done. Luckily, I got my last unicorn in the mail today! Now, I just need to get started on a glove koala and then I can continue on making things to put in my shop and to set aside for Christmas. Yes, Christmas. I was all set to start in July and stock pile lots of animals (I even made a calendar for the next 4 months) so that in December I don’t have to kill myself like last year making close to a million animals (ok, maybe it was like 50 or so, but when it normally takes 2-3 days to make one…that is a lot) but of course July threw all that off. Oh well, part of what threw me off were actual sales with actual money so no complaints there!
Today Josiah told me that when he grows up he wants to be a life guard and a weather man. Both noble professions. If only the weather men could control the weather and bring some much needed rain to TX. It seems like last week he wanted to be a spy. I wonder what it’ll be next week. At least he has a while to figure it out.
Ooh, one good thing that did happen was that yesterday I took Josiah on a date to see his first movie in a theater. He sat in one of their booster seats but the chair still tried to fold in on him the entire time. We saw Winnie the Pooh. They rarely make innocent movies any more for the theater so I was really excited to take him to this one. Usually kids movies now a days have lots of humor for adults, gross body function jokes, violence, and even sexual innuendos. This sweet film didn’t have any of it. It was above his head on some things but he could still enjoy it at his level. And it was only an hour long, which was good since I wasn’t feeling great. Tonight when we prayed before bed he thanked God for sending us to the movie theater. So sweet.
Lastly, I went into Hobby Lobby the other day to buy some yarn and they are decked out in Fall decorations there (and of course Christmas too). It made me instantly forget that it was 100+ degrees outside and think about all the happy things that happen in the Fall. I am so excited that it is getting closer. It is definitely my favorite time of year. I love the weather, the holidays, food, decorations, etc.
Ok, so there is enough randomness for this week. Where did the week go by the way? Wasn’t yesterday Monday? Maybe the fact that I haven’t really left the house in days has something to do with it.
Tomorrow I’ll be back with a post about Audrey’s birthday present from when she turned one. So check back in.
Wow, I’m behind on reading your blog…oops. So sorry you both have been sick! Jay is just getting over a sinus infection, and last night at 2 am, we here this whiny, sniffling little baby next to us….poor girl, she’s getting it now. I hope you two are feeling better. I’m glad you and Josiah got to take a date to the movies, and enjoyed it. 🙂 Can’t wait to see what kind of orders you will have this Christmas!
Oh, sorry that your little one isn’t feeling well. I was also woken by a whiny kid at 2 am and then at 6 but by our son who had a fever. So, guess it is getting passed around the house.
