    Well, today has been a really terrible day.  And what makes it even worse is that it started out so great. I was blessed to live with 3 amazing girls (Beth, Shannon, and Brianne) for the first years of college.  We then added an extra 2 (Becky and Merewyn) our senior year as we got to live in a house together.  We are like family and keep up with each other mostly through the internet but also talk on the phone or see each other from time to time.  Half of us still live in TX and the others live all over the US.  Beth, my main roommate, had to fly to TX unexpectedly to go to her…

  • Pleasant Surprise

    I love surprises…well, good ones anyway.  I really don’t like not so great ones that throw off my plan for the day or life.  Not that I’m a big planner.  Oh, and when people sneak up behind me and scare me, nope, don’t like that either.  But yesterday I had one of the pleasant little surprises.  My shop was included with 9 other adorable baby shops on Babble.com. Yippee!   Jacinda from Prudent Baby was nice enough  to put me on the list.  I am a huge fan of all things Prudent Baby and have been lucky to have my sock animals shown a few times by the lovely ladies on their site.  If you…

    Hi! I’m Jocelyn, the sole owner/creator/maker etc, etc of The Nesting Spot.    I am finally dipping my toes into the world of blogging.  (Please be patient with me as I figure out this new-to-me medium.)  I started my shop in the midst of my burst of energy in the 2nd trimester of being pregnant with my daughter and since it was filled with items to fulfill your nesting desires, it got the name it has.  Most of my free time is taken up with making sock animals for everyone else but occasionally I do actually  make something for my own kids!  So, I figured on this blog I could share…
